Connecting your own domain to an app with HTTPS
Use the platform's DNS instructions, verify ownership and test the finished HTTPS address.
App Cities · 1 min · Updated
Your app starts with an apps.appcities.run address. You can also attach a domain you own. DNS tells browsers where to send requests. HTTPS protects the connection. These are related steps, but a DNS record alone does not prove that the certificate and app route are ready.
The steps
- First confirm that your app works at its platform URL. This gives you a working reference if the custom domain has a problem.
- Add your domain in the dashboard. Use the exact DNS records it provides, including the ownership check.
- Make the change where your domain's DNS is managed. Keep unrelated records, especially existing email records.
- Wait for verification and HTTPS readiness. Then test the new URL, redirects, cookies and any sign-in callback addresses.
A common question
Does App Cities sell domains?
No. Bring a domain you already own. Review the current plan for domain limits before attaching it.
