Health checks: how to know your app is ready
Check more than a running container before sharing your app's HTTPS link.

A container can be running while the app inside it is broken. It may still be waiting for a database. It may show a page but fail when a user signs in. A health check is a small test that helps decide whether a service is ready.
The steps
- Check that the web process listens on the port declared for App Cities. A wrong port can make a working process look offline.
- Use a light health endpoint where your app supports one. Do not make each check scan a large table or send an email.
- Test the key user path yourself: load a page, sign in, save data and read it back. Check errors in both frontend and backend logs.
- Try a normal restart. Make sure the app reconnects to its database and does not need manual steps to become ready again.
A common question
Is an HTTP 200 enough?
It proves that one request worked. You still need tests for the actions your users depend on.
